Fairfield Osborn Preserve, on Sonoma Mountain seven miles east of the SSU campus, has been part of the SSU campus since 1997. Galbreath Wildlands Preserve, west of Cloverdale in Mendocino County, was donated to SSU in 2004. These SSU preserves are both owned and managed by Sonoma State University and administered by the School of Science and Technology as a campus-wide resource through the field stations and nature preserves. Fairfield Osborn Preserve is on Copeland Creek in the Russian River Watershed. Galbreath Wildlands Preserve is on Rancheria Creek in the Navarro River Watershed.
